Dance Pictures

I'm sure every parent or almost every parent has an "incident" right before picture day.  Well I'm no different.  Alyssa had her dance pictures this week on Tuesday.  Monday we were outside doing yard work and playing and she was coming off of the front porch and tripped or something and went down and did a face plant on the bottom.

My heart stopped.  I thought for sure there was going to be a lot of blood or broken nose or something.  There wasn't any of that but there were some cries and a lot of scrapes.  I got her cleaned up and an ice pack.  Then all of a sudden Knox said he had an owie too, he did not.  She thought he was pretty funny.

Her scrape on her face was on her forehead between her eyes.  I thought nice, pictures are tomorrow.  Not that it's honestly a big deal.  My concern was for her but also thought it was funny on the timing.

All I have to say is thank goodness for makeup and long hair!  I was able to put a little cover up on and swipe her hair over.  They were supposed to have side pony tails so this actually worked out well.

The picture of her owie really doesn't do it justice but wanted to do a little before and after pic.  A friend had seen her and couldn't believe that she actually had it when she saw her ready for her pictures.

I'm kind of thinking she did it on purpose because she was so excited to be able to wear make up that I think she wanted to wear more!  I'm kidding but when we were getting ready she told me she wanted to put it on herself because she knew how to do it from watching me!

Summer Has Started

Now with most of the activities done we can get started on all of the Summer fun we have planned!  I have gone back and forth about signing Alyssa up for something in the summer and I'm still torn.  The one thing she might do is a science camp at the Children's Museum with her "boyfriend" from preschool.  Again, I just keep going back and forth!

We have been trying to find some fun and different things to do than normal.  At the gym twice a week  they have a bounce house in the Kidz Fit program and I have been letting her do that since she begs me!  I finally broke down and took the kids to Jump Planet with another friend.

It's a big "room" with about fifteen bounce houses.  I have been avoiding places like this because one I hate the crowds that they attract, the germs, and last with the crowds you get a ton of kids and I will be honest besides my own and some of my friends children I'm not a fan of them.  Yes, I said that.  Think what you want but I'm being honest.

Anyways, all the kids had a blast going and it completely wore them out!  Knox had a blast going down all the big slides and then once he found the "house" with the basketball hoop and balls that is where he wanted to stay.  After an hour and a half everyone was ready to go home!

We went and spent an afternoon with Grammy and the kids just loved it!  They have certain things that they enjoy doing when they are there.   Playing with the cow bell she got on one of her travels, the Goofy phone, smelling all the perfume, running all around the apartment, playing rock school in the backyard, just like their daddy did, and playing with the big bag of goodies!

Grammy being the brave soul she is let the kids paint on her table in the family room.  Both kids love painting and it was going really well until Knox decided splashing the water everywhere was a little more fun!  Leave it to him I tell you!

Grammy invited us to stay for dinner so we accepted the offer and both kids helped her cook.  This has been one of Alyssa's favorite things to do and because she likes it Knox now does too!  So they helped make pizza!  It was very fun watching the three of them.  We headed home shortly after dinner and the kids once again were exhausted.

The kids had another birthday party to go to at the end of May.  My good friend Stacy's youngest will be turning five in the summer and so she decided to have it a little earlier.  The kids had a blast.  The party was at the YMCA Adventure Zone.  Alyssa ran around with all the girls playing and Knox played dodge ball with all the big kids.  He loved it.  We were there for about two hours and the kids were wore out!  Alyssa enjoyed seeing Caden again.  They don't get to see each other as much because of busy schedules but still talk about one another a lot!

First Year Of Preschool Came To An End

When we came back from vacation Alyssa had her last week of preschool for her first year.  She was pretty excited because she was the last snack and show and tell person for the year!  Every kid lives for this day!  She has loved going there twice a week for a year and loves both her teachers and has made some good friends.

At pick up the teacher handed us all a big folder of misc. stuff from the year, pictures that were taken, their name cards, etc.  Don't get this mistaken with all of the art projects and stuff that gets sent home weekly!  I was wondering what I would do with it all and have decided I'm going to make an art book with all of the stuff.

The next day of class was their class party at a local park.  We had great weather for it and all of Alyssa's friends from class showed up.  The kids had such a great time and played together really well.  There is a little boy in her class that they both have taken a liking to each other.

When they saw each other on the playground it was almost like slow motion.  They started running towards each other and when they got close enough grabbed each others hands and continued on.  It was so stinking cute!  I have to say she does have good taste and he comes from a good family.  He better because this little girl already has expensive taste!

She told me that she plans on marrying him and they will have four children and he will stay home with the kids because she is going to be a doctor!  So stinking cute!

Some of the moms all exchanged numbers and plan on getting together over the summer.  There are a few who won't be returning next  year but hopefully we can still stay in contact.

***This all occurred obviously weeks ago...again, I'm getting behind!  We have already had a play date with one of the girls that Alyssa likes and they were so stinking cute.   I can't wait to get them together more this summer!***

Lake Chelan Or Bust!

In the middle of May we decided to take a family vacation and go for a week to Lake Chelan.  This trip has been planned for a few months now and we were so looking forward to it.  We got an amazing deal on a three bedroom condo there and couldn't wait to stay.  Another bonus was we were going to be there on Mother's Day and I couldn't think of a better place to spend it.

We left early that Friday morning and enjoyed the drive over.   After getting around some slow pokes on the pass we made very good time.  Since we were pretty early to check in we headed over to our friends cabin who were still there.  Alyssa was pretty excited because we stayed there last year and both kids adore our friends, Doug and Carol.

As always Carol had some good treats that was ate up and we busted out the party pig and enjoyed some cold beverages.  After being there for about an hour or two Cory's parents arrived.  Both kids were so excited and when Grandma Gail came down the stairs Knox started yelling "Nana!" and ran up to her and got a big hug and kiss.  Describing it doesn't really do it justice because that little boys face lit up like a Christmas tree.  It was so precious.

Check in time approached and we headed over to the condo and got checked in and I made contact with a friend of mine who was joining us on vacation along with her family.  The kids were so excited to see their friends.  We decided instead of going out to dinner we were just going to order pizza and everyone could come to our condo and enjoy the meal.

The rooms were absolutely beautiful and the staff was amazing!  We have already decided that this is going to be a yearly trip around Mother's Day.

Saturday was the Apple Blossom Festival in Manson.  All of us headed down to Manson to enjoy the parade. Knox loved seeing all the tractors, police cars, and fire trucks, along with all the vintage cars.  Alyssa loved the Apple Blossom court and cheerleaders.  A big shock there, ha!  All the kids got their candy and enjoyed a beautiful day out.
After that was over we headed back made burgers on the patio and headed down to the pool for the rest of the afternoon for some fun!

The kids loved playing in the water.  Alyssa was a little hesitant to let go of us at first in the water but after seeing her friend Eva do it she decided that she could do that and more!

The rest of the time there we spent doing much of the same.  Hanging by the pool and soaking up the sun!  One afternoon we brought all our lunch stuff down to the pool area and cooked it right there at the community kitchen.  It worked out so nice!  What was even better was we had the whole place to ourselves!  Literally, there were no other guests staying there!

Every night we also went down at seven for S'mores.  The kids loved it and it was a perfect end to what seemed to always be a perfect day!  Those kids were wiped out every night and enjoyed sleeping in the bunk beds in their own room with a t.v.  Alyssa is wanting bunk beds in her room so bad so anytime she gets to sleep in some she is thrilled!

The kids also enjoyed playing at the parks that we took them to.  There was one right across the street from where we were staying that we ventured to several times.

Cory's mom watched the kids one night for us so we were able to go out and enjoy some adult time!  We had a good time and ended up meeting up with our friends later that evening.  Always great laughs with them.

One night I went and played bingo at a local sport with my In-laws.  It was interesting to say the least!  We didn't win anything but I can't say I was really disappointed!  Supposedly this was supposed to be a big deal.  It was busy but I can't say I would do it again.  Interesting people though for sure!

We also went to one of our favorite restaurants over there for breakfast one day, Blueberry Hills.  They make the best breakfasts in my opinion and desserts.  The ambiance is also great.

This trip was well worth it!  The kids and adults all had a great time and as I have said before we can't wait to go back there!  Everyone was exhausted but when you work hard you play hard and that is exactly what we did!

We are already planning our next trip there and I can't wait!  This will be our yearly tradition with the kids.  I have to say these little ones are pretty fortunate and blessed with all the stuff they have experienced and get to do!

I have so many great pictures that I will send out on Snapfish to all the family!
