Artic Blast 2010

Last week they started predicting snow in the forecast for us. Everyone knows if you mention the "S" word around this area everyone starts freaking out. I myself rejoiced and couldn't have been more excited. The only problem I had was I knew it wouldn't probably amount to a lot except for a lot of people complaining around here. That is exactly what happened!

That Monday, we got the snow, the kids and I bundled up and headed outside to play in it. We were out there for about an hour or so playing. Knox was only out for a
little bit until he decided he had enough and wanted to go nap. Alyssa and I continued to play and then went inside and had ourselves some warm soup and grilled cheese. The snow didn't stop my little diva from being unfashionable. She brought her purse and sunglasses right outside to play. Alyssa absolutely loved the snow and was so excited when she saw it coming down. She ran outside and started trying to eat it and was jumping up and down clapping. It was precious.

We headed to the mall that afternoon to find Knox his Christmas outfit. I had already got Alyssa a dress and needed to find him a coordinating outfit. I love
having a son but it sucks buying clothes. There are just not very many options and I'm so picky when it comes to their clothes. Luckily I finally found something for him that I was satisfied with.

Cory went out that night after work with some friends to get dinner and drinks. When he called he informed me he had been involved in an accident at work and his car was totalled. He was pretty sore already and his back bothering him but was OK. I saw the pictures of the car and he is lucky that's all that happened.

Never A Dull Moment With These Two

Last weekend Disney on Ice was in town and Alyssa and I had an inpromptu girls night out. She saw the commercial for it and was so excited I decided that we should go. We got amazing seats, 4th row, and had a blast. It was the first time for both of us and I couldn't have been more amazed. It was something seeing these people skate around in costume! I mean it's hard enough without.

Alyssa of course loved all the prince and princesses. Her favorite was Belle without a doubt. Beauty and the Beast has become her favorite movie to watch and I can't complain it's one of mine too. As long as she doesn't start to get critical of my signing we will be good! We have been getting a lot of things accomplished lately and that entails cleaning, organizing, shopping, etc. etc.

Now that the stores have all their Christmas stuff out Alyssa has been really excited. The other day in Target we were looking at toys and she came to the end of the isle and saw all the Christmas decorations and took off towards them. It was so funny. She just sat there looking at the trees and looked at a picture of Santa and smiled. When you ask her what she is going to tell Santa what she wants she will just look at you and smile and say "Barbie."

Knox is starting to try and crawl. He just kind of scoots around on his stomach I think out of frustration but not really crawling. He is kind of lazy when it comes to that kind of stuff. I look back and compare the kids and Alyssa was already pulling herself up and trying to walk. His top teeth are still coming down and he's been fussy off and on at night with them. Overall he is doing amazing and getting so big!

The poor boy puts up with all of his sisters non sense. She loves playing with him but Im afraid one day she is going to end up putting him in a dress or putting make up on him! The other day she tried doing his hair again. He wasn't thrilled but will tolerate her. They go in her room a lot and play. Well she plays and he will sit there and watch and she brings him toys. It's very cute. I recently got a new phone and Alyssa loves playing the games on it. She can navigate through there like crazy. I have even caught her making some phone calls. So if you get any open line calls from me with heavy breathing or funny noises it's her not me!

Three Days of Halloween Fun

Thursday Cory and I cam back from Las Vegas and just in time to jump back into a crazy weekend full of Halloween activities.

Friday started up with Alyssa dressing up for her preschool class. I was surprised that not too many of the kids actually dressed up. I asked Alyssa if she had wanted to and of course like any other little girl she started jumping up and down and saying "YES."

After doing some Christmas shopping that afternoon we headed out to Seattle for a Halloween party. We had a blast! The party was for older girls but Alyssa hung right with them and was having soo much fun. The girls were great with Alyssa too,
including her in everything. There were many games played, food ate, and even a supposed ghost sighting.

Saturday morning the kids and I went trick or treating with one of my moms groups and went to a retirement home. It was so much fun. I don't know who enjoyed it more the residents or the children. Alyssa came home with a huge amount of candy and was
very excited for the rest of the weekend. She definitely knows what Halloween is.
Later that day we headed into Seattle to spend yet another evening with family. It was good to hang out with family, like always, and the kids seemed to entertain everyone. Alyssa really seemed to enjoy it though because she loves nothing more than to hang out with her Nana's

On Halloween we ended up going to the Everett Mall and doing the trick or treat there. All the stores, well most of them, handed out candy and both the kids got several comments on their outfits and how cute they are. When we got back we went
and took the kids just to our immediate neighbors houses. Alyssa handed out candy with us and loved doing it. That is more than I can say for me because I love Halloween but I hate handing out candy.

Back to our trip to Vegas, we had a blast and I can't wait to go back this next year. Ate at probably my favorite restaurant to date, Nobu. It's a sushi restaurant
and was the best! The kids did great and had fun hanging out with their Nana while we were gone. We are now gearing up for Thanksgiving and it's hard to believe it's right around the corner. I love this time of year and can't wait for Christmas. The holidays are so much fun now especially since Alyssa understands what happens.
