The Farm

Today we had Alyssa's preschool field trip to The Farm. This is a really good farm, one of many in our area.

Since Alyssa's preschool has many branches in the area and all the three year old classes were meeting there I knew it was going to be crowded. We found her teacher pretty easily since they were all holding signs up.

First up was the tractor ride out to pick up our pumpkins. They forgot to tell us that us adults could get one too, but oh well, Alyssa picked out a great little pumpkin. After we got back it was time for all the fun stuff around the farm. They were really busy that day with many school groups coming.

We were broke off into another preschool class and off we went. Through the wonderful straw maze to the slide, corn pit, animals, water duck races, slides and the most important ICE CREAM!

The weather held out for us. The morning was actually very nice and by the time we left around noon it started to pour down rain!

We ended out day at the library getting several books of Alyssa's choice. I'm enjoying our days together when it's just us and can't wait for Knox and I to do some of the same. On a side note I was so annoyed that morning. I had got the kids new rain boots since Alyssa had outgrown her old ones and Knox needed some. Wouldn't you know it that morning we were running late and mysteriously her new ones had disappeared. Ugh...so she is wearing her old ones and of course when we got home she immediately found them. Kids!

Ah..... Fall Is Here!

The smell of cinnamon and cloves, taste of pumpkin spice lattes, and pumpkin farms sure brightens anyone day and/or gets you in the mood for Halloween! At least it does for me.

Last weekend I took Alyssa to see Lion King, which she has been asking to go and see for awhile now. I finally gave in and took her since Cory was able to be home and take care of Knox. I'm not a huge fan of the movie so wasn't too excited to go see it. Of course Alyssa wanted to know where the princess was but for the most part she enjoyed it. For me still had the same outcome..eh...Not sure why I don't like it, I enjoy the music and I think it has a great story line but maybe just not that into it.

Yesterday we went to Remlinger Farm and did their Harvest Festival events. We went with my girlfriend and her two kids. She had never been and had been wanting to go for some time. We got there when they opened and were pretty much the only ones there. Which is rare because that place can get packed! It filled up a little but still there was hardly anyone there which was nice! I have really lucked out in all the times I have gone because I have missed it on the days when it has been packed.

All the kids had a blast and enjoyed all the rides, animals, treats etc. Since there wasn't many people there we were able to go on the rides multiple times without getting off. Which was nice. Alyssa even went on the roller coaster by herself and loved it. She is such a thrill seeker when it come to stuff like this. Knox got to go on as well and was a little indifferent about it. He also went on the a few other ones with the same response. Next summer it sure is going to be different and I can't wait!

Around two we ended up leaving and I thought for sure the kids wouldn't sleep on the drive home. No such luck, but thankfully they did have an early bedtime after dinner which always makes me happy so I can have some me time and get some stuff done!
