Lake Chelan Or Bust!

In the middle of May we decided to take a family vacation and go for a week to Lake Chelan.  This trip has been planned for a few months now and we were so looking forward to it.  We got an amazing deal on a three bedroom condo there and couldn't wait to stay.  Another bonus was we were going to be there on Mother's Day and I couldn't think of a better place to spend it.

We left early that Friday morning and enjoyed the drive over.   After getting around some slow pokes on the pass we made very good time.  Since we were pretty early to check in we headed over to our friends cabin who were still there.  Alyssa was pretty excited because we stayed there last year and both kids adore our friends, Doug and Carol.

As always Carol had some good treats that was ate up and we busted out the party pig and enjoyed some cold beverages.  After being there for about an hour or two Cory's parents arrived.  Both kids were so excited and when Grandma Gail came down the stairs Knox started yelling "Nana!" and ran up to her and got a big hug and kiss.  Describing it doesn't really do it justice because that little boys face lit up like a Christmas tree.  It was so precious.

Check in time approached and we headed over to the condo and got checked in and I made contact with a friend of mine who was joining us on vacation along with her family.  The kids were so excited to see their friends.  We decided instead of going out to dinner we were just going to order pizza and everyone could come to our condo and enjoy the meal.

The rooms were absolutely beautiful and the staff was amazing!  We have already decided that this is going to be a yearly trip around Mother's Day.

Saturday was the Apple Blossom Festival in Manson.  All of us headed down to Manson to enjoy the parade. Knox loved seeing all the tractors, police cars, and fire trucks, along with all the vintage cars.  Alyssa loved the Apple Blossom court and cheerleaders.  A big shock there, ha!  All the kids got their candy and enjoyed a beautiful day out.
After that was over we headed back made burgers on the patio and headed down to the pool for the rest of the afternoon for some fun!

The kids loved playing in the water.  Alyssa was a little hesitant to let go of us at first in the water but after seeing her friend Eva do it she decided that she could do that and more!

The rest of the time there we spent doing much of the same.  Hanging by the pool and soaking up the sun!  One afternoon we brought all our lunch stuff down to the pool area and cooked it right there at the community kitchen.  It worked out so nice!  What was even better was we had the whole place to ourselves!  Literally, there were no other guests staying there!

Every night we also went down at seven for S'mores.  The kids loved it and it was a perfect end to what seemed to always be a perfect day!  Those kids were wiped out every night and enjoyed sleeping in the bunk beds in their own room with a t.v.  Alyssa is wanting bunk beds in her room so bad so anytime she gets to sleep in some she is thrilled!

The kids also enjoyed playing at the parks that we took them to.  There was one right across the street from where we were staying that we ventured to several times.

Cory's mom watched the kids one night for us so we were able to go out and enjoy some adult time!  We had a good time and ended up meeting up with our friends later that evening.  Always great laughs with them.

One night I went and played bingo at a local sport with my In-laws.  It was interesting to say the least!  We didn't win anything but I can't say I was really disappointed!  Supposedly this was supposed to be a big deal.  It was busy but I can't say I would do it again.  Interesting people though for sure!

We also went to one of our favorite restaurants over there for breakfast one day, Blueberry Hills.  They make the best breakfasts in my opinion and desserts.  The ambiance is also great.

This trip was well worth it!  The kids and adults all had a great time and as I have said before we can't wait to go back there!  Everyone was exhausted but when you work hard you play hard and that is exactly what we did!

We are already planning our next trip there and I can't wait!  This will be our yearly tradition with the kids.  I have to say these little ones are pretty fortunate and blessed with all the stuff they have experienced and get to do!

I have so many great pictures that I will send out on Snapfish to all the family!
